Well, what a strange 18 months, so we are now in January and we are looking at seeing patients for check-ups and trying to resume patients’ normal routines. We have started sending recalls out again from where we were up to pre-covid and working our way through the many of you who are keen to have a check-up and get back to normal in all aspects of life.
We are still having to follow guidance from the NHS and some patients will take priority for appointments at the moment. These include people who are having pain or a dental emergency, people who suffer from gum health issues or children of the age where they need to be assessed for orthodontic treatment, but please be assured that we will be sending you a message inviting you for an appointment.
We now have a patient portal through which any forms such as your NHS declaration forms or medical history forms can be completed in the comfort of your own home and will cut down the time that you need to spend in our practice reception. Please make sure that you keep your contact details up to date so the link for the portal can be sent to you with your appointment reminder.
In German legend from the Middle Ages, it was said that kissing a donkey could take away the pain of toothache!

We know that parents are concerned about their children’s oral health during this time when appointments are not as freely available as normal. So we have put together some tips to follow until the time they are seen by their dentist at the practice.

When I was a young girl I wanted to be an A&E nurse helping people, then I fell into dentistry. I’m privileged as I can see how my work makes a huge difference to peoples lives. One way is with implants, I get to see people smile again after years of not smiling. I’ve loved my 30-year career in the dental world.
Outside of work I love my cats and my beautiful daughter, Ria, who recently graduated from Liverpool University.
